The Nordic Film Festival returns as a cosy winter celebration of contemporary cinema from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, showcasing a curated program of award-winning films, audience favourites and emerging voices from across the Nordic region.

The festival opens with ÁRRU, a powerful Sámi drama set against the stark beauty of Sápmi, followed by a Nordic-themed opening night reception, and continues with a mid-festival program of standout contemporary Nordic cinema including drama, comedy, Nordic noir and documentaries presented across Brisbane. The centrepiece of the festival is the Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner  Fjord.

The festival concludes with a special Closing Night screening of Ingmar Bergman’s Persona (60th Anniversary), accompanied by an elderflower cocktail on arrival, marking the end of a season of immersive and thought-provoking Nordic storytelling.
